California BrainWaves Nonprofit needs Volunteers Sat June 1st at the San Leandro Cherry Festival to help with our Healing Arts Booth for all ages. No artist skills necessary. Volunteers can be all ages, accompanied by caregiver if under 16. Volunteers can work whatever hours they wish between 10-6. Volunteer hours are accredited. California BrainWaves is a local nonprofit that supports Special Needs Families with brain and developmental disabilities. Brain tumors, cancers, aneurysms, ADHD, Autism, Alzheimers, seizures, mental illness: there are more than 400 brain disorders. Everyone knows someone with a brain or developmental disability. Oftentimes, you can't tell by looking at the person.  California BrainWaves has the vision of creating Neurodiversity Campuses for loved ones to remain living together instead of their disabled loved one being institutionalized, funneled into alternative schools and for-profit jails and prisons, or homeless on the streets. California BrainWaves just joined CareIt to deliver food to homeless encampments in a new way! Thanks to client donations through Bay Area Professional Organizer Co, I've been dropping off goodies to homeless encampments for over a decade. If you are open to picking up and delivering food locally, download the app, too! California BrainWaves, a Nonprofit for Neurodiversity CABrainWaves.org Our Mission is to increase support for neurodiversity in the way of housing, employment, education, research, medical care, specialized training, legal aid, and community systems.  Our Vision is to develop pivotal live/work/learn/play therapeutic campuses for people with brain and developmental disabilities and their loved ones, preventing traumatizing and expensive family separations. At California BrainWaves, staff, caregivers, and neurotypical siblings are also a priority in receiving support. In addition, we focus on de-stigmatizing neurodiversity.  Our 2024 Goals are to start a tv show, shoot tiktok and YouTube videos to help de stigmatize brain health, host a couple of fundraisers and community events.
